  2. Changing Axis Attributes

  4. An axis scales the range of values being plotted in a graph. Tick marks and grid lines identify data value positions‚Äîthese are perpendicular lines along each axis in a graph.

  6. The options available in the Axis Attributes dialog depend on the type of graph you select. Axis attributes you can change include scaling, axis display, grid line color and width, and style, and tick mark color, width, length, and position.

  9. Double-click an axis, or select a graph and choose Axis from the Graph Attributes submenu (Graph menu).

  12. Choose the axis for which you want to specify attributes in the upper-left corner of the dialog. (The axis you double-clicked or selected in the graph window is displayed.)

  15. Specify the attributes you want to apply to the selected axis.

  18. Click the Show button to preview your selections without exiting the dialog.
